The New Forest Show

Tuesday we went to the New Forest Show. Took a bit of persuading to get hubby to want to go but in the end he agreed so off we went despite the early rain! Was actually so bone dry down there that there was lots of dust every where. We had a good day as it was mainly cloudy so that meant that we didn't need to worry about sun cream and getting too hot. But it was warm enough that we didn't get cold. The main purpose for me was to take a look at the chicken stuff as we are very into getting chickens at some point. Can't see it realistically being this year as we need to get the pond finished but maybe in early spring. We came across some baby quails. 3/4 days old. How cute are they! About 3inches in length. Teensey!
They had a fabulous garden that is a dedicated to a natural cottage theme of lots of wild flowers. Here are some piccies.
People had made some mini gardens like bonsai - very good!
Here are some other flower arrangements and the biggest/longest veg!

And to end off with here are some falcon and owls on display.

  1. I used to live in Winchester, found this link on FaceBook - well done with the gardening, leeks look healthy! This inspires me to start, however small. Really like the pics of the New Forest Show.
